There is no way you should pay any premium over MSRP for a 2003 E320. These cars will be everywhere by Fall. If a dealer tells you to pay more tell him to take a hike!

When I put down the deposit, my dealer gave me in writing something that said the car would be delivered at MSRP, even if the market was allowing the car to be sold at a rate above suggested retail. Didn't think this was a big deal at first, but maybe it is with all of this talk about the car selling above MSRP... never thought this to be likely...

Right now there should be no premium but come August/Sept there will be a long waiting list for the e class. At that time people will be paying $2/3 k minimum to jump the line.I do think people like myself are waiting to see how much a E500 will be with certain extras and if it is over the top and DVD NAV IS NOT AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY then I will walk and buy elsewhere.BMW 7 series will not however be getting my business as this is one strange car that will be a depreciation disaster.

Why not MB Manhattan?...I have had very good service with them.

My understanding is that they never charge a premium on a new car due to their relationship to MBUSA...they certainly have not with me.

I test drove the 7 series, and I will say that that is one fast car. However, the electro, gizmo, over-the-top, how-do-I-operate-this-stuff, made me immediately say "no thank you". That car is suited for someone who is "technically" literate, and I consider myself to be one of those, yet I hated the technical feel of the inside. Also, during the test drive, while I was waiting at a red light, I was fiddling with that big silver knob on the console between the driver and passenger seats. When the light turned green, the car would not go. Somehow, while fiddling with that knob, I had put the car in some type of "lock" mode that is equivalent to "park" -- I was nowhere near the gear shifter!?! That car is going to have problems reaching a large-scale audience!!

Gak!
I forgot.. DVD Navi will not ba available immediately... so what are my options... wait it out with a quickly depreciating Acura CL type S.... or buy something else... C Class (?) to hangon to value for the mean time although i will probably loose as much in value with the new car though... grrr.. i hate decisions like this...

I see you've decided to get a MB huh! Congrats! So what are you going to be doing with your Acura? Going back to your original question if a dealer were or put a premium i'm guessing it'll be around $5-$10k.

$0.02

I think that once the new E-class starts rolling out on dealers lot and they have sufficient inventory, you won't see any premiums.
