Need to settle a bet!

If you go to MBUSA.com E-class gallery and peruse the pictures to number 5 on the top row and look closely at the wheels. Is the front rim different from the rear rim wheel?

My argument is that if you look closely, you can notice that the rear rim wheel is the regular standard rim while there is the 5 star rim as the front wheel. Why would Mercedes do that??

This is a bet between me and my friends and I know you painstaking individuals notice the itty bitty things so help meeh out! If not, I think I am due for an eye- check up..

I would attach the picture but it seems that it saves under .bmp and this forum does not take that kind of file attachment.

You're right... maybe they had a flat on the day of the photo shoot and borrowed a regular rim from another car :p

Weird how the makes the perspective makes the rear wheels look huge too.

I've noticed that MB will photoshop pictures from year to year. I'll see the same photo from last year with new features this year grafted on.

Pretty much all the MBUSA pics are edited. Find the same pics on mercedes-benz.com and see that the front side markers are pasted on, the license plate space is narrowed, etc.

Those would be a "Sport" package wheel on the front (5-spoke) and "Non-Sport" package wheel on the rear (quintuple split-spokes), IMHO.

Yeah, a good number of the photos on the website and in the sales brochures are edited. I'm sure they do it because it's cheaper to hire somebody to edit the pics than to hire a photographer to shoot more pics. It's not really new, either. I first noticed it in fall 1998 while looking at MY1999 sales brochures.

While I did give out a good chuckle with the comment of MB cutting costs, it is not unusual to go through a lot of processing before it gets to the brochure. Everyone does it. No doubt, the Appearance package rims look a little better than the standard rims, and they probably photographed a non-Appearance car, so why not photoshop it to look the way you want?

But thats just a horrible shortcut. They make appearance pkg cars so why not jus one car off the picture frame and bring in the other and snap?! Straight up gay on their part for that.
