'99 and '05 E55 AMG
See attached. It's a PITA to reach on the transmission bell housing upper driver side. I use a 14" extension and use tape to hold the Torx bolt in the socket. Make sure the engine is cool and raise the hood to the vertical position. If you don't know how to raise the hood to the vertical position, look for the release lever/button located on each hood hinge.

2005 E500 Wagon
Yep I did mine recently. It's on the top driver side of the transmission right by where it connects to the motor. It's tough to get to but once you find it, and connect some socket extensions and wobbles to get the thing out, it's a really easy fix honestly. Having the hood completely vertical is required and plenty of light to see under the cowl.
