2003 E320 - Interior Door Lock Knob

(Not push button, knob on top of door panel next to window).
The door still locks and unlocks, but when either locking/unlocking the doors from the inside of the car with the Power Door Lock Button on the console manually, or with the key fab, the front passenger door knob is not moving up and down in one continuous motion as all other knobs do, it rather moves up and down multiple times while somewhat vibrating.
I am also no longer able to manually push the knob up or down, as I am able on the drivers door, so it seems as if something inside may have broken/disengaged in order for this to happen?
Anyone have any experience with this, has experienced something similar and has a proposed fix for the issue?
Many thanks in advance!
Happened to me.. you have to take the door panel apart, and disassemble and take the door lock actuator, open it apart and change a spring, it'a a pita to change the spring..

it's really inexpensive to fix, but have to take apart the door, the door lock actuator, etc... then need a little screw to put again the bottom window rail, cause you have to break it to get the actuator down.
there's many videos on youtube about this.
here's another parts maybe you need, the gears and the outer actuator knob.

"Machine Gun Door Lock" is a good way to put it indeed.
I will check on youtube and see what I can find.
