"Auto Dimming Mirror Warning"
Well, last weekend I noticed the dreaded leaking liquid on my driver's side wing mirror.
Did a little reading and thought I would be OK leaving it as-is until the new Euro style aspherical glass replacements purchased from eBay arrived.
Wrong - noticed today the liquid had leaked out of the mirror and down onto my door panel, staining the paint.
Cleaned it up the best I could with rubbing compound but it's not coming off completely.
Luckily my paint color is Tectite Grey so it might not be that noticeable - lighter color cars would be a different story.
Lesson is if you notice your driver's side auto dimming mirror start to discolor remove the glass immediately and save your paint.

Mine too, looking for drivers side mirror.
I had mine fade and looks like its getting darker. I can't find a decent replacement anywhere at a good price. New ones are $300 to $400. Used on ebay are hard to find or don't really match up with my part number 211 810 0521. Anyone with a decent driver's side mirror out there at a good price, with auto-dim please contact me. 2003 e500 Sport.
