My first W211
Just picked up my first W211, 05 E500 1 owner 126,000 miles, all maintenance records.
I paid $2800 for her and she needs a few things.
All 4 airbags are "deflated" "car too low stop driving" is on dash.
I disconnected front passenger air line going to top of strut and air is coming out but I can hold my thumb over tube to stop it. I don't see how "all" 4 bags go bad at once. So my plans are, to have a fitting made so I can manually check each "bag'
No I don't have access to Star, my goal is to spend as little time trouble shooting the airmatic and moving to a coilovers setup ( D2 or Ksport) with Strutmasters "bypass" module.

Either you STOLE that W211, the previous owner had no clue what he had, or you bought a big POS.
GOOD LUCK with the repairs, both cars look great on the pics.

However, if I own a Carrera and am stupid enough to drive another beautiful car into the pillar of my own garage and NOT fix what I damaged, ......... Sorry, but that does not justify anything else than neglect and not giving a crap about my vehicle. Not taking care of any damages or maintenance needs on a car is obviously a "I don't give a crap" attitude, regardless if I drive a Carrera, Ferrari or any other car for that matter.
But again, if you can fix it yourself, you got it for a good price IMO.

Thanks for your input, yes I can fix it myself, I was just sharing my new purchase on the forum. It's about the "find" and the journey. Not the PO.......
Thanks again for adding no value

As little as you paid for the car, you can afford a DAS/STAR/Xentry system. Even if you go to coil overs (which I personally do not recommend), you're going to need the diagnostic system to work on the car. And you can always sell the diagnostic system to a forum member so you lose nothing.
If you are looking to invest the lowest price and drive the car into the ground and then scrap it, you're on track and I am not criticizing you for that; when I was a starving college student I did the same thing with a Chevy Chevette I bought for $250 a few decades ago.
It's a good price you paid. I would have bought it, repaired it, and then given it as a gift to a needy relative. May it give you years of enjoyable driving. Seriously. Enjoy your car.

$2800 sold price is how all 4 air bags could be deflated. An iCarsoft MB II diagnostic tool can help you trouble shoot airmatic suspension issues and costs less than one trip to the dealer.
At least you know the air compressor runs for now and it could be as simple as a hole in an air line or god forbid all 4 Bags are leaking down due to age. I had one bad front airstrut and one bad rear air spring so far. Once you get it sorted you will like that German V8.

I miss read your first post, thought you meant impact airbags not airbag suspension, if nothing else is wrong thats a DEAL!
