Do dealers discount European Delivery?
Thanks,
David
P.S.
Some BMW discount, some don't. Apparently the ED cars are not part of the dealer's allocation at BMW, so they don't count as part of their allotment. That is good for scarce cars; it makes an extra sale. On readily available cars it is a problem, since the dealer loses the volume on his CDI-based bonus.
You should at least get them to include the Alps Rally.
Alps Rally consists of four additional paid hotel nights some of which include dinners. Check with your dealer and ask for a brochure on European Delivery. It gives a good description of the program.
You can find all you need to know about European Delivery by going to www.mbusa.com or the Alps Package by going here:

Sorry to correct you Bud but I said you get four ADDITIONAL nights. You are right that makes a total of five with the basic one free night.
It only proves that I shouldn't offer an opinion about which I know nothing.Have a good trip Jim.

A suggestion to those who don't want to rush the rally would be to book lodging at your own cost for the initial night before picking up the car at the factory and then use one of the free rally nights to stay an extra day at one of the more expensive and exclusive hotels on the route which include either the Schloss (Castle - former summer castle of the Kaiser) hotel in Baden-Baden, or the Interalpen in Austria. The Mercedes travel department will work with you to get you the Mercedes company rate at any of the hotels you pay for yourself.

On our 03 trip we spent two days at the Schloss Hotel in Baden-Baden. If you stay at the Schloss hotel you can take a day trip across the border to visit a French town and if you stay at the Interalpen in Austria you can take a day trip to see historic Innsbruck.
