E500 engine making......
a weird noise. Something like the lifters or such. Its pretty loud at idle when standing next to it. Sounds like its louder on the drivers side. Almost like its low on oil but not. Was just wondering if this was normal or is something wrong with my car. Only got 1K on the clock. Should I be concerned and take it to the dealer? Thanks

If the noise comes and goes, it's the purge valve and it's located on the drivers side of the engine. Next time you hear it open the hood and have a listen, you should be able to islolate the sound if it's the valve. PS if it is the purge valve the noise is 100% normal.

What is the remedy noted in the TSB? The purge valves have been making the same noise for over 6 model years and in a few different MB models. I thought the "engine noise" TSB was for the motor mounts.
