Hi guys, been a member for a while now. have read and learned so much.

But now its time for me to ask seeing i am in a problem with my 2006 E-350


One of the grey relay (under hood fuse box) is shot.

I took the relay out and i am trying to find the part number so i can order (amazon) of where ever

problem is the number on the "hella relay" i cant seem the find the exact one

Anyone willing to help me find the part number.

I wanted to share my story, maybe it can help someone..



I have a 2006 E350 Japan Spec (imported from Japan)

Car is an amazing purchase i DONT have anything to complain about this car. i have owned many cars of the years this is by far the best in luxury


My "sad" story.


One afternoon heading out i went to start my car and there was no start, no crack nothing. every light came on and off as normal just no crank.

First though was a dead battery. seeing the car has an AUX battery i though the reason every light was on was because of this battery.
anyway went inside to get my other my wife's car keys to use her car. before heading out i thought i just would give it another try and what do you believe it started right up.

A couple of days pass by no problems or anything.

About a week later again in the afternoon car did the same thing.

After a few try the car would start, just had to 'play' with it.

Then a couple of days later, no matter how much i waited of played with it nothing. No crank nothing.

Car sat there for about a week. Me trying everyday to start it. Sometimes it would actually start and then die back on me.

At some point when i could get it to start i would raise the revs and it would keep its idle normal.

i could shut it down and started right up,,,then within a couple of tries it would be again then.

by this time i was getting very frustrated. i read every post available from fuses to starter to immobilizer to ecu. nothing helped.. even took out the battery to have it fully charged. NOTHING

i could get it to a shop because it wasn't derivable. so google and this forum were my mechanics.


at some point while trying to start the car i noticed a "Click" from one of the relays (relay 3 from the picture). thus my reason for asking the part number. sadly this part was no where to be found in my country. not even the dealers of napa auto parts.

without giving up my came with the idea to "switch" the relay with another one that wasn't "clicking"

the car started right up. was happy as hell and when for a drive. had a couple of waning messages that i did not have before. i had the SRS light come on during the ride, i had the convenience feature temp disabled come on and EPS defective light.

long story short i finally got my hands on the part by buying one online using the above part number, changed the relay and the car works perfect back, no warning lights nothing....

Just wanted to share my story and who knows maybe someone can be helped
