Permanently Clear CEL After Catalytic Converter Removal?

So I purchased a 2005 Mercedes E320 CDI, but the previous owner installed an aftermarket exhaust and removed the catalytic converters. The check engine light is also on.

I am wondering if anyone knows how to permanently clear the check engine light? I heard that it's possible to install a resistor kit into where the sensors used to be. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge with this that would be willing to help? Thank you!

Have you pulled the codes yet to see what is actually at fault?

Search in the W211 AMG sticky section in the "STAR Diagnostic How To DIY...". There's a post in there that addresses how to disable it.

Just install O2 sensor spacers. It is was all of us do when we get the CEL from a Cat delete. It is cheap, easy, and it works. It is a DIY job, but you can also get a good Indy to do it for an hour of labor:
