You don't have to worry about the balance shaft. The clean point is 30 468993.

Don't be surprised how many owners there are. My current E350 I'm the 5th owner, I believe due to the fact that people who are 2nd, 3rd and 4th owner don't keep it very long because they don't have a clue what maintenance cost if they are not prepared or know how to work on them like myself. That's pretty good low miles you got there, when I acquired mine it had 65k miles on it and now I'm already rolling at 73k and two years owning it still ticking.

Went and looked at it. Good overall shape minor bumper damage and driver seat already had a spot of the fake leather coming off. Their seemed to be a whine of some kind coming from the front engine area passenger side steering seemed a little heavy but I’ve never driven one so maybe the ps pump I’m not sure, right plastic intake was loose and I couldn’t make it tight... Back seat a little smaller than I wanted. I would get an inspection done before buying but the bigger s class maybe more of my flavor. The mileage’s is really tempting though he has someone else coming to look tomorrow we’ll see.

That one is as basic as they come. Basically no options besides P1 package. Steering isn't normally a problem on an E350. The noise in front could be the pulleys/tensioner. They're known to go, I changed mine out when the thermostat went in the 60-70k range.

Ya didnt have alot of extras which is ok i guess less to break lol. Had nice big brakes and drilled rotors pretty much it though also the acceleration was underwhelming lol. Hes asking $6700 rear bumper would need minor repair and assuming it dint need any mechanical repair. He replaced oil pan gasket and some other stuff last year. For similar money i can find a lil high miles but 2-3 yrs older S class. What to do lol..

I believe the body style changed on the S class in 2007. So the older 2006 and older are much cheaper. If you read the threads on the E class older models in the 2003-2006 range were much worse in terms of reliability. They got better in later years and the 2009 is considered the best.

Anyway, don't know much about the older S class, but they tended to have a lot more options, not sure if airmatic on them was standard and I think they still had SBC brakes.
