LED License Plate Lights on 2005 E500 Work!

I bought the wrong size led bulb for my 2005 W211 E500 (RWD), they were a bit too large but I used thin sheet metal (almost like foil) to make the connection work, it took only two whole hours to make a ghetto looking workaround but it worked!

I would rather spend $20 and get the correct ones from AZN Optics instead of ghetto rigging something like that.

I've got their LEDs on both of my cars and they work flawlessly. They also fit correctly.

I first spent $10 on a pair that straight up didn't work, then $20 on a pair I saw on this forum and they didn't fit... so I didn't feel like spending more on lights so I made the ones I had fit lol

For some reason even in a W211 forum somehow nobody has the same car as me

36-38mm works for your rear plate for future reference. 36mm plus in straight into the housing without issue. 38mm uses the cap guides. Anything outside that range you'll have to hack it to make it work.

I PM'd AZN Optics and told them I wanted LEDs for the plate lights. I gave them money, they sent me LEDs. They worked with zero issues. Same for LEDs I bought from them for my W210.

Sounds like user error or you got a bad set, which happens, if they didn't work.

I used LED modules. Spreads of light is superior to plug in leds. Plus no risk of the leds overheating which most of the time the heatsink on the canbus leds gets way too hot to touch. Heat = leds die faster.
Mine I ordered a year or so back:
