Recall problem
Hi All,
Just called the dealer to make an appointment to have them check the recall on the brakes. Was told to wait til I receive the letter from Mercedes. Did anyone run into the same issues?
We didn't buy it first hand so I have no idea how Mercedes would know our address...through the DMV maybe??
Has everyone received letters from Mercedes already?

You should go to the dealer and ask them to change the system data with MB to reflect your ownershio of the car. I believe it's covered in your manual. You'll get the notices from MB then. After recalls of any make are announced, it takes a while to get all the letters out to customers and to get the list of applicable sold vehicles to each dealership along with corrective action procedures or parts.

my car goes in on tuesday for other little fixes....
i am gonna insist they check it, OR they can physically pick up my car and deliver it to me to check the brakes later - IM SICK OF MB's poor customer service policy

Call up MB dealer, tell them to check NETSTAR system and provide your VIN#, they will be able to tell you your car is in recall or not.
NET system will show entire vehicle history too.
