Fuel Rail Pressure
Right now, have a pressure gauge hooked up on the line post the fuel filter (low pressure side) feeding the high pressure pump.
car idling pressure is 99+psi and when you step on the gas pedal the pressure drops to mid 60s.
The current draw measured at the fuse for the low pressure fuel pump is 0.8/ or 8 amps one or the other. I understand the range should be .5/5 to .7/7 Amps. (the
Also the engine shuts off when a high pressure test is attempted.
Any ideas what could be causing this. Hoping someone can shed some light.
To me it sounds like there is a block in the supply line and the pump has to work extra hard - and cannot keep up with the demand when you step on the gas pedal.
Is the pump defective or is there a blockage?

Sounds like you have complex problem, but 0.8 amp for in- tank pump means it is not working.
