Your post certainly set a very high standard and I for one really appreciated te effort you put into writing it.
Incidentally chimney pots and Father Christmas is not just an 'American' thing.
I could never understand how he actually got down such a narrow opening, but every year throughout my childhood he managed to squeeze down the chimney and out into the living room without a single piece of soot in sight.
A nice story which I have now read several times.
