Here we go. 07 E550 ESP light is no, ride gets really hard and cruise stops working

Hey all,
Like the title says, I've got an E550 4Matic with the ESP light coming on. It will go off if I restart the car, but will faithfully return within at least 25 minutes of driving. It seems like any sort of ride control goes away and the car rides hard and bouncy until you restart the car. And of course, this process will repeat as long as you can take it.

Where should I start? Anybody else dealt with this? Looks like back in the day, there was some sort of module failure in the steering column that was a common culprit.

And while we're on the topic, what diagnostic software should I buy if I'm going to continue to own Mercedes cars?

Thanks,
Chris

Did a little more testing. It seems to happen when turning the wheel. I can pump the brakes a thousand times when its sitting, but after a few cuts of the wheel and the car is warm, the light pops on. Any insight or advice?

Thanks,
Chris

Could steering angle sensor. Have someone pull codes using MB DAS, plenty of purchase recommendations on the forum. Current part # 2115459832 start shopping here: http://www.usedautopartsyouneed.com/...9832-2057.html

There's also this youtube video that I followed:

Also about $189 new.

When I replaced mine, the center piece seemed pretty loose, the new one didn't have any play in it. Only real hard part was getting the nut off the center of the steering wheel so I suppose if you get a used one, it's about an hour or so to replace it again.
