LED tails
While at lunch today waiting for my lovely wife, i noticed that my E500 does not have LED tail like my E55.
So is LED optional??? Or i am smoking crack??? My E500 tail lights just looked different.
If i am not smoking crack, is LED retrofittable??

LED taillights are part of the lighting package, which means "bixenon headlights".
I guess if someone is trying to save energy by using bixenons, then only then they could save energy by using LEDs...
They are retrofittable but will require programming.

I should have taken the other car on the lot instead of this bone stock E500 with only premium pkg.

LED Tailights
I thought the LED tails were part of the car for the 2004.5 and beyond. I was wrong. I too want to retrofit my '04 with LED tails.

are the connectors the same? or do I need to get different wiring harness.
When I was upgrading my M3 tail to LED, it required a wiring adapter.
What are the p/n we need?

you don't need any thing just fix the new LED it's same wiring
and connecter.

LED Light change
I changed my taillights to LED (Elegance to Avantgarde) a day ago. It was simple, took about 10 or 15 minutes. The new housings just bolted in. (5 nuts) It cost $330.00 in total for the factory light assemblies.
The old ones have only 1200 miles on them (my mileage - I have not driven it much) and and literally new.
