Question Fixed Squeaky Blower Motor, but now NO AC. What Happened?

I am on my second U.S. E320 CDI. My first, a 2005 melted the differential at 299650 miles. Cost of repairs including needed body work and deferred maintenance exceeded the fmv, so I got rid of it. I then lucked into an '06 with only 133500 miles. In very good condition. It did have a squeaking blower motor. Just like the old one. I kept it off for most of the winter, but now that it is finally getting warm, I decided to try lubing it today. I was prepared to replace the motor, but I have read a couple of posts suggesting lube will get rid of the sound, and well, I am cheap, and have a lot of time on my hands, so - I tried it, and lubing works. No squeak at any fan speed.

But, there is no air. The red indicator light comes on, but there is just no cold air. What did I do wrong? Or how do I best determine that? I haven't done anything diagnostically. I suspect the regulator, or that somehow I missed mating some inlet/outlet when i put this back. I am a chubby old guy, and putting this thing back was a bit of a bear.

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

The blower motor worked, but the AC not. At least that is how it appeared. Today I ran the car for a while, and it did get cool, just took a while. Does that mean it needs a charge?

Yeah you could start with that. Freon may just be low....

i bought a can of freon at a large discount store, but the gauge on the can is in the blue, indicating the unit is full. I guess it cools well enough, and the squeak is gone, so that I am satisfied for the time being.

The red indicator light means the AC is off.

On mine, at least. YMMV.
