Airmatic problem - Compressor.

Hi, i got some problems with the car Mercedes Benz E220 2009 Diesel.

After the car is parked at night, it slightly sinks down on 3 out of 4 wheels (the car rises as normal when start up), so the workshop told me to change the airmatic compressor, so i did - The problem is still there. But the mechanic did NOT change the relay after changing airmatic compressor, could that be a problem?

Mercedes Benz workshop did a full diagnostic control on the car and it showed no errors, what can the problem be? Is it the relay not being changed? Is it normal for car to sink a little? Its no leaks in air system either, its been checked.

Hope somebody can help me out here.

Change the "mechanic". Car sinking at night is in no way due to the compressor. Actually, the car rising to normal at start without any messages tells that the compressor works very well. If it has been checked for leaks then the valve may malfunction.

Can a malfunction valve make the car fall down on 3 out of 4 wheels? Just to make it clear its not much down it goes, just a little bit, around 1,1 - 1,3 centimetres.

Also, no error message appears in the display regarding airmatic.

Which 3 wheels? Although airbags have individual valves. Where are you located? 1 cm is not really that much. If it is cold at night the air can become denser reducing it's volume although I would expect to happen on all 4 corners. Are all airbags the original factory issue? I am not sure about the MY '09 but the rear wheels are on one valve port while the front wheels are on individual ports. So maybe that explains the 3 wheels.

Right and left wheel in the back, and right front wheel falls down.
What do you mean about airbags? Do they have a connection to the Airmatic system? Airbags are orginal from factory and never changed.

Located in Norway.

Can it be the Relay that was not changed that making problems? Or most likely the valve?

Air springs are sometimes referred to as air bags; not to be confused with the air bags designed to deploy in a collision. I try to always refer to the suspension components as "air springs" to reduce confusion. Does the Norwegian E220 model have a full airmatic suspension?

IIRC relay is under the hood by windshield in the fuse compartment - its the relay at the north east corner (way back there) - bit of a PITA to get at

You'll likely have to check for air leaks on the distribution block in the front and the rear if many corners are falling down.

Thanks, relay have been changed, still the car drops a little bit down over night (1cm)

And when i open the car with the key remote, i can see the car lowers down (0,8-1cm), but when i start the car its adjust back to normal height, is this normal?
