Lowering Airmatic Suspension

Anyone know how the 2003 E500's airmatic suspension can be lowered below its factory default? A technician at my dealership said it can be done by computer. But another technician told him that MB does not allow that! So are there aftermarket ways to accomplish the lowering? I would love to have the car lowered by 1" on sport1 and 2" on sport2.
