Beside cloned SD from China, the best legal scanners I found are
-MaxiEcu
-iCarsoft MBll
Both in the range of $100 will give you advanced reading and adaptations as well as DPF regeneration.
For home I like MaxiEcu as it is easy to read and scroll.
MBII can be taken with the car, but it is annoyingly slow to read.
