Practical Advice
I've been really satisfied by the knowledge within this community so I thought I'd ask for some practical advise from people who have driven my exact vehicle before... My dad loves his s550, but he has the luxury of just taking it to a car shop and saying "fix it" no matter the cost. I'd like to be a bit smarter and more involved in my ride.
I've got a '07 e550 4matic Avantegard. Just replaced the rotors/pads with your help and I want to continue to make this thing bulletproof- 50k and sold just won't do, I love this car.
At 112k, are there any components of the engine/suspension/electrical/etc.), in your experience, that MUST be updated in order to keep the car running smoothly long term? I've only noticed two anomalies from the driver's seat: an audible rattling as I go over bumps/potholes (from Pittsburgh where the roads are inevitably ****), and a lack of power when I attempt to "put the hammer down" merging onto the highway- it almost seems like the car is having trouble downshifting when I demand power.
I have about $1000.00 left for repairs in the next 6 months after buying the new braking system, any advice on how to most efficiently use that cash, given my diagnostics? I'm learning more every day, but I'm just getting started, so bear with me on the details of the problems.

Cole
Budget for lower ball joints, they seem to be a weak point on these cars especially on rough roads. And don't know if you've done it yet but redoing all the fluids and filters is always good if you don't know the history of the car.
