What is this foil twisted ring?
I set out for what I thought would be a routine replacement of a D1S bulb but after putting in the replacement I was disappointed to hear clicking sounds from what sounds like the igniter. Bulb does not fire at all. I am using OSRAM d1s. I tried swapping with a known working bulb and the same thing.


On a separate note it boggles my mind how and where this foil like ring came from. Any help identifying it is appreciated. See attached.
