Location of Central Gateway module

Hello, I have a 2008 Mercedes E350, i was wondering where is zentrales gateway or front central gateway module located in my car?

Right under the dash on driver's side? Just remove the cover and you will see it.

I was wondering how do mechanics replace it. I know they program it, but how do they program? And also is the module very inside.

If you're not in a rush and it needs to be replaced, there are companies out there that will rebuild them. That's usually cheaper than buying a new one.

Any company do you know can rebuild them?

Sorry, couldn't find one, I guess lots of electronics can be rebuilt, but maybe the central gateway isn't one of them. I believe you have to either take it to the dealer to get the new one coded or have a Star diagnostic system yourself to code the new one. A knock off star system is probably in the $600-$1000 range so probably not worth it, plus you then have to figure out how to use it.
