Apparently yesterday.

There are no to premium packages. The original for $4720, and one without the ventilated seats for $3950. Just think, they took out a $1000 option and raised the price $300!

This allows ordering the Premium package with the Heating Package.

The standalone sunroof is gone. No only as part of the sunroof package. So we will be seeing a lot of rear blinds. and raising the price $310

I don't know of any other changes.

For us we switched from the entertainment package, nav, and sunroof ($3430) to the new package, and increase of $520. We gained the Drive Dynamic seats ($1180) and rear blinds ($320 addition to the standalone sunroof).

And we still don't have what we really wanted, which was the original premium package with the heated wheel (and 4-place climate control which isn't available anyway.)

It seems there is also now a comfort package available with the '05 CDI. My order was changed from individual ventilated and dynamic seats to a combo of the two, coded as comfort package. I wonder what else is now available.

 

What about the Sport Package/ Appearance Package or AMG Package for the E500. Did they also discontinue the brake by wire system?

 

My impressions are that the sport/appearance package was not offered on the CDI. Am I right?

 

Not in the US. And I wanted the 16" wheels anyway. I don't feel it significantly helps the handling to have large diameter wheels (and less tire cross section height) and it does hurt the ride.

I am curious about levind's comment, since I didn't think the comfort package was carried over to '05 for any model.

And in '05, you can't get a heated steering wheel with ventilated seats on any E-class.

I just wish I could have ordered the car in '04!!!
