What repairs have you had since you bought your w211/w219
1. How many miles were on your vehicle when you purchased it and how many years old was it? How long have you owned your vehicle?
2. What repairs have you had, how much did each cost you, and was it DIY or at a mechanic?
3. What repairs do you expect in the future and why?
2. Repairs:
Front air shocks, $1200, DIY
Crankshaft Position Sensor, $50, DIY
Crankshaft Pulley, $200, DIY
Upper Suspension Ball Joint, $35, DIY
3. Expected Future Repairs:
Rear air shocks, $1000, DIY, I hear some slight noises back there, and I wouldn't be surprised if they go out before 100K miles
HVAC Changeover valve, $75, DIY, occasionally the AC doesn't change over from the heat, it is bound to go sometime
thermostat when I bought it 3 years ago with 101K miles $100
rear driver's side ash tray from Ebay, $40
a couple of glow plugs at $20(?) each
main and aux battery ($300)
headlight bulbs (only because I wanted to upgrade, not because they failed) (couple hundred
Sealed the trunk lid license plate trim panel to stop the water infiltration $5
Gonna replace the rear suspension bushings soon due to squeaking like a cheap hotel box spring.
Pretty solid car, really. 147K miles on it. I'm in the midst of a 6K mile road trip and am pulling down about 40mpg at 80mph.

Motor Mounts
Entire front suspension (control arms upper+lower, thrust arms, shocks,, ect.)
Intake Manifold
Water Pump
Magnetic cam adjusters
Drive shaft felx disc
Fuel tank/pump
-Replaced both rear springs, one was broken from hitting a deep pothole
-Had a cracked wheel repaired and refinished (suspect it's from the same pothole that broke the spring)
-Replaced drivers seat foam
-Front left and right lower ball joints
Probably needs motor mounts as I'm experiencing a slight vibration at idle
