Question 2004 E320, Sensotronic Brake Recall??

Do all 2004 E320 sedans have the recalled brakes? How can I tell if my mom has recalled brakes?

Your dealer should notify you via postal mail if this is the case.

Just back from Sindelfingen after picking up my CDI. I was shocked when I asked the technician about the SBC recall. I was told that there had been only one "INCIDENT" but Mercedes felt they would recall all the cars. I told the technician that someone is full of bull. Maybe one person was killed and they considered that the only "Incident." There is nothing worse with having a problem than trying to hide the facts. Frankly, I'm not seriously concerned about my SBC brakes since I'm sure the problem will be ressolved by MB.

MB-JIM - welcome back

Looking forward to any and all reportings on your week in Germany to pick up your new E. Any impressions on changes from your last visit to the factory and hints on upcoming models/options, etc.

Not any significant changes since I was at Sindelfingen last December. I did see the new SLK's being delivered as well as they were driving on the streets of Stuttgart. It is a very sharp looking car.
Information on future models was zero. The one technician who will usually give me information was on sick leave having had a fall on his bicycle and apparently had a broken leg. I tried to find out about the E350 CGI and E320 CDI but was told they could not give out any information. The misleading response on the SBC problem was about all I could get.
My E320 CGI really flies. I think it will do very well in the USA if people can get over their prejudices based upon earlier noisy, smoky and poor accelerating diesels. It will require MB salespeople to actually become "Salesmen." I think many of them know and care little about the technical features of the cars and are primarily order writers.
