Clunky front end. E350 Wagon.
Shop says “sway bar mount to frame broke” $750 and “lower control arm bushings cracked” $1,400.
2006 E350 has a clunky front end noise under the right wheel when driving on uneven/bumpy roads.
Shop says I can just do the sway bar part but not sure if I need to do the bushings too. This alll seems so expensive.

Lift the front of the car and wiggle the wheels. I bet you'll find some slop in the ball joints.
There happens to be a gentleman on this page whose ball joint press needs a new home. FCPEuro will sell you a complete set of ball joins for your front end for less than a couple hundred. Invest an afternoon and your clunk is gone.
BTW, owning these cars is not cheap. That's what Hondas are for. That said, if you can do your own work the payback is huge.
