Just recently purchased a '04 E320 that needs a bit of repair. The PO had hit something ? and two of the airbags have gone off. The right roof curtain and the right rear door bag were deployed. Question is, once the two bags are replaced, can the SRS module be "reset" or does it need to be replaced too? My understanding is that the airbag module is like a fuse, and once the system has been activated, the module needs to be replaced. Not being familiar with MB, can the dealer or someone with dealer level software reset the module or do I need to find a new/used module to complete the repair? Additionally, once repaired, do I need to be careful "rearming" the SRS system (keep the battery unplugged) or risk blowing the bags once everything is reconnected and power restored?
