moon roof help

i read the manual and am so confused.

i think i have a problem. the moon roof control, as far as i know, has a 4 way movement. please confirm that i have the descriptions correct.

forward (towards the windshield) closes it sliding horizontally.
backward (towards the rear) opens it sliding horizontally.
down (pull down towards the center console) closes the tilt
up (push up towards the roof) opens the tilt.

on our 04 320, when i pull back it doesn't always slide open. sometimes it opens like 2 inches at a time. so i have to pull back like 20 times to get it fully open. this occurs if i pull back slightly or all the way past the first click (supposedly this should fully open it automatically right?)

sometimes after fully closing it, it'll work fine. sometimes not.

the tilt feature opens if i pull down on the control or if i push it forward. is this supposed to happen?

seems hard to figure out when it's fully cosed if pushing it forward to close it sliding also opens the tilt.

is something messed up with the control? thanks!

yes, your controls are correct. and when opening it horizontally, there is a first click, where you can hold it till you want it to stop, then if you press a little harder, te second click will open it all the way, so you can release the button.

i believe the only way to make the moon roof tilt is if you press it up, not down, or forward. you might have a problem with your controls, or your car isnt synchronized, i believe thats what its called. im not exactly sure how to synchronize it, hopefully someone can post a how to, or it might be in your manual. hope it works out for you. here is a thread, with a similar problem, it says to re sync it, you tilt it up, and hold it there for more than one second. that should do the trick. GL.

bmms8 is right

Needs re-synching. Follow the thread. Pano is basically the same.
