Rear air coil innards (photos)
Air spring with 2 cracks in bellows
After two zip ties removed the Bellows can be slid off of the air spring
Air spring extended to maximum length
Metal shield unclip from plastic around the base and slit up over sleeve
Plastic unclip from base and slit up over sleeve. Which exposes the metal clamp around the bottom of the sleeve and the top one and was already exposed and it looks like if these two are cut then the sleeve could be removed and the repair kit installed
I had stumbled upon rear air coil repair kits on alibaba.com and asked the question if anyone here had repaired their air Springs with these kits. Apparently no one has. So I took one of my leaking rear air Springs apart to see if it looked like it was a doable repair .
