ive been searching for a vacuum leak. I lightly blew in smoke into a vacuum hose and it all came billowing out of this which seems to be some kind of sliding valve. its not sealed well at all as I can easily pull back or push in this plunger that was installed inside of the hole. regardless if it was pushed in all the way or pulled all the way out, smoke will easily come from it.

im not sure of this things function or purpose or if it is supposed to be sealed or not. I would assume its supposed to be sealed when the plunger is in all the way due to vacuum sucking it in but as stated before it does not seem to be sealed good anyway. even a slight puff of smoke blown through any vacuum hose will come billowing out of this thing and I mean even a very very light puff.

ahh... with some further research I get it now. this is plugged on my car because its an unused port that would be for the brake booster line as shown on this car:

had to make sure before I messed with some fancy advanced technology Mercedes crap I didn't understand

yes appears that way. thank you for the help.

unfortunately, I sealed it up and my car is still running lean...has a very slight rumbly misfire while idling... I don't think ill ever figure this out...
