What is the disc between the shaft and the flex disc

What is the disc between the shaft and the flex disc
I plan on replacing my rear flex disc and I find that there is a disc/wheel between the shaft tripod and the flex disc. I didn't find this piece in WIS or any other pictures for the W211.
Anybody knows about this?

That is actually part of the driveshaft flange. The part where your red arrow is pointing will remain with the driveshaft when you separate from the flex disk.
