'05 E320 4Matic Wagon Oil Sensor Question
I recently purchased a 2005 E320 4Matic Wagon with gobs of miles on it. I'm a multiple W210 owner, but this is my first W211.
Has an "Oil Level Sensor Malfunction" message. I figured it just needs a sensor. I found the web page here:
http://www.mercedesmedic.com/how-to-...mercedes-benz/
No big deal right? Well, my oil pan doesn't look anything like the one pictured in the mercedesmedic thread. I can't find the sensor to save my life. Where is it? Do I have to remove the oil pan like the W210 style E320?
(Side note, I read that the auxiliary battery being bad could cause this issue. I disconnected and tested it, and it appears to be find. Holds 12.2 volts and held up reasonably well to a load test.)

I did the oil level sensor on W211 diesel and it was the lowest sensor on the engine.
However I remember from old 3.2l gassers that oil level sensor was on upper oil pan and require lot of labor to replace.
My friend drove with the message for years and never wanted to spend the money.
Go to 1 of those sellers using EPC and with your VIN you will get some drawings.
Maybe not precise, but giving you starting point.
