I have a 2007 mercedes benz e550 that I just purchased over the weekend. My drivers-side rears tail light has a dime sized hole in it so I wanted to replace the rear assembly to fix it. However when looking for replacement parts I noticed some say "w/ Appearance Pkg". I am just wondering if there is any way for me to tell if I have the performance package so I know which light to order to match the otherside.
Is that part you linked OEM or aftermarket?
There's a used OEM one in good condition on eBay for about the same price.
You could even make an offer for $100 and I bet they would accept it or make a counter.
WDBUF72X37B117197 is my vin number. I used the website posted above and didnt see anything about performance package. So I am assuming it probably does not have it.
Edit: oh man, look at that when I submitted the comment it linked to a vin decodder on this site! Awesome! Ill have a look in there too!
See how the reverse light portion of your rear light is tinted? That is the sport package.
Hmmm that may just be the lighting where the picture is taken... Ill go look at it a little closer after work. If it does have the "sports" package is that the same or different than the "appearance package"? Where I have seen the replacement lights they have had 2 options "w/ appearance package" , and with-out. No mention of "sport" package specific lights. Perhaps the sports packages uses the same cover as one of the other packages but I am not certain.
