White noise from speakers

So from the time I started owning my 03 e500, I have gotten a lot of white noise from the speakers when I brake, hit a speed bump, or when I turn off the car. I’m not really sure if that’s normal also when I turn on the rear defrost I tend to lose antenna connection when listening to the radio which I find very odd. Also another problem I keep having is that my power steering sometimes feels loose while other times it feels really stiff so trying to think what are some remedies for that. And last but not least, I need help finding an oem turn signal socket for the headlights for my car. I got one but it says it takes 3157 bulbs which I don’t understand because the other side takes an 1156 bulb. All help is appreciated, please and thank you!

I think there might be some wiring corrosion somewhere. I would check the fuse boxes (there are quite a few!) and also look in the trunk near the main battery. As for the power steering, it is possible the power steering pump may be on the way out. I would check the power steering pump for any leaks and if the pulley has any play. But I would also check your suspension. Turns going from easy to hard may also be a rubber bushing on one of the control arms being torn or worn out. How many miles do you have on the car?

Well when I got the car a few months ago it had 140k now it’s about to hit 142k. I had a feeling about the power steering pulley and the pump guess I’m going to have to start looking for a new one just to be on the safe side. I already have both tie rods and all new bushings to go in just waiting for a day that it’s a little warmer or see if I could find a place with a lift to do the work otherwise I guess I’m going to have to pay someone else to do it. I’ll start checking the wiring and the fuse boxes to see if I find any corrosion.

in other news how much does MB charge for a headlight alignment? I think mines definitely needs it my lights seem to be pointed more down than straight ahead

when end I bought this car I kind of had an idea that I would be replacing a lot of things but for the price I couldn’t pass it up.
