Evening all.
So around 8 months ago I purchased a '55' plate e280 elegance. Well the alternator decided it does not like me and packed up.
I got myself a new one and got busy replacing them, one issue. It seems to work intermittently? I think I have worked out the issue... i found a metal plate in the tool box that I removed, however cannot remember where it goes! 😥
I've attached a photo so any ideas or advice appreciated!

LOL apparently its time to starts taking pictures before you disassemble. And i would first look for the screws that are not shown in your picture, then look for the star symbol stamped on the bracket to make sure its not a forgotten part off your lawnmower.
When I was replacing engine on my 2008 Bluetec, I had couple of those left over. Actually more than a couple
Almost all MB parts have part number stamped on it
Take the number and google it for EPC drawings.
That looks like wires holding bracket. Look at your harness if it is having signs of straps and is loose at this point.
