Need help with this. This transmission line that goes to my radiator keeps disconnecting. I’ve change the line as well as the clip. It pops out and spills all the transmission fluids. And just can’t figure out why it pops out. Need help

ah... I used to have this exactly problem on my SLK (basically is the same car with 2 doors). what happened was the clip can be inserted from different angles (all look the same). However, there was only 1 correct angle/direction. If you inserted from different/wrong angle, it would look perfect but the clip wouldnt snap in, consequently under pressure will pop back out. You need to look at the indentation/notch on the hose, then figure out which way the clip should come in.... very easy once you look at it careful. Maybe bend the clip a little to help it grab better. (Ironically, I took the car to many shop, and none of them figured out!!!)

Yeah all the early W203s and W211s are susceptible to this problem. My W203 did it several times before bypassed the radiator and installed a separate transmission cooler. Same with my 211.

Thanks I’ll take it apart again and reposition it correctly.

With a Hayden 679 transmission cooler kit.

I did a more detailed writeup when I installed the same trans cooler on my w203.

The W211 is a bit easier because there's more room to work and you don't have to pull the radiator support.
