E63 Keeps calling SOS, Please Help

I have an 07 E63 that randomly calls SOS. This seems to happen almost every time I get in the car now. Music goes silent and dash says "SOS calling command" and for 4-5 minutes it tries to connect. Once unable to connect, radio comes back on and all is good again. I have tried disconnecting the battery and the headlight procedure (leaving on for 2 minutes). I called the Mercedes 800 number and they said the dealer should deactivate for free but when I call (both dealers in STL), they want a minimum charge of $175. Anything else I can try before leaving it at the stealer? Oh, I do notice my trunk button doesn't always work. This SOS calling seems to malfunction every time my trunk button doesn't work.

Have MB CAC (800-367-6372) coordinate service visit with dealership Service Manager on your behalf. Argue you do not subscribe to TeleAid, dealer needs to deactivate using Xentry (MB diagnostics).

SOS help

I called MB 800 number again and was told that since the dealerships are independently owned, they can choose whether to charge or not. Guess I'm stuck paying for it unless someone knows a way that I can just unplug it (I'm sure it's not that simple). Thanks for the help.

Have you tried an indy shop? Some should have the setups needed to disable it.

the shop I've taken my cars to over the years, doesn't have the equipment for it. I'm gonna do some looking this week.

SOS help

Called a few European car repair shops and the only quote I could get was $400 to do the job. They said it could take a couple hours. Dealer wants $175 hr, so I guess I'm just going to take it to the dealer. If anyone has had this done at the dealer, could you tell me how long a job like this should take?

Put your location in your profile. People may know of a shop that could do it in your area or someone might have STAR/DAS/Xentry and be willing to help you out (for a fee most likely).

It also should not take a couple of hours to code that out.

I coded it out on my car. Less than 30 minutes following instructions posted multiple times in this forum.
