I wonder if anyone else has had this experience.
Took car out for a quick trip to bakery to get supplies for our guests..
parked car and notice a fan like/whistle sound from engine as I walked away clicking the lock button..
I waited for a few minutes wondering why this would happen..no turbo aftercooler...no previous history of an ancillaries running after motor turned off..
Went inside..popped croissants into oven got the Vibiemme coffee machine running and went back to car..
Yep it was still running.. so fired up car..checked temp any warnings etc..all good..took it for a drive..
came back shut it down..
Yep.. still a running noise..so popped the bonnet..something coming from under engine cover , near SBC unit. A little smoke n electrical burning smell.
Bolted around to the boot got the lids up n disconnected the battery..as I did a whining noise had started..then silence..
Repairs. Blown main fuse, relay (probably failed n primary cause) secondary air pump (fried), wiring, and associated parts to the pump..ouch..
This follows an unresolved fog light that wont turn off, SBC brake unit replacement, rear drivers air strut replacement, leaking air con issues (dye checking under way)..secondary battery failure and dealer not reaffixing undercarriage skid pan protectors after work on fog light
weve had the car for 2000klms.
not a good start..
