2006 Mercedes E350
Crank no start 2006 E350
Hi everyone
I recently bought a 2006 Mercedes E350 and it has a crank no start issue. I tried the simple things right now like reading DTC and nothing. I also heard that most European cars have problems with their crankshaft position sensor, I went into my live data to see the RPM and it seems that the sensor is reading it. Next, I checked fuses with a test light on the trunk relay box and there are no blown fuses. I also try to listen to the fuel pump while the ignition key was in the KOEO position and didn't hear anything. I checked the fuel pump fuse and relay and they were ok, the relay read OL on the switch side of the relay and about 70 ohms on the coil side of the relay. Next, I put a jumper wire across and could hear the fuel pump running. So I put the jumper wire and cranked the engine and still no start. I inspected the 4 red wires, next to the spare tire, and saw that there was no corrosion. I put the relay back and checked for fuel pressure, I hooked up my gauge and cranked it for 5 seconds and saw that there was fuel pressure about 50 psi at the fuel rail. I also checked spark with a spark tester and spark was fine.
Now what I'm thinking is that has a compression problem, I'm buying an engine compression tester to see if I have compression. I dont know if is me but feel that the engine cranks fast. But if you guys have any other leads that I can test that will be much appreciated. Thank you
