E550 (w211) Air Spring Replacement...fyi
I did the air spring replacement on my 2007 E550 this past weekend and just wanted to put some info out there.
I went with the old school style with the reservoir. They were less than 200 each on ebay. They were thru am-autoparts (I attached details in the pic).
I removed original OEM's that were leaking down (surprise right...) and these appeared identical all the way down to the #'s stamped on the outer boot cover.
The biggest single issue was reattaching the reservoir hose (which you get to skip in the new style) other than that it really was not to difficult. I did have to use an electric impact to get a few of the larger bolts out but they were very accessible even with the impact.
All in all it went very much like the video except the fact I did it on jack stands (not a lift) which did not cause any real issues other than comfort and I had to attached the reservoir hose.
I used this youtube video as a guide.
