Hey everyone, I'm kind of at a loss trying to fix my problem. My 2004 e500 keeps throwing the code for the battery in red to visit workshop. Read that it could be a couple things. Replaced both aux battery and main battery. Code still comes on. Just noticed tonight that the headlights kind of dim for a split second when putting it from park to drive. Also read it could be the battery control module, or the voltage regulator. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Probably alternator bushings or Battery control module.

Check it

Sounds like the voltage regulator. How many miles on your vehicle. If over 140k, change the regulator. Be sure to use oem regulator.
