Nokia Phone Pre Wire
Just heard that the Nokia 6310 - that is used in the MB official car phone pre-wire is now finished (end of life)!!!
Are there any plans to integrate a new Nokia phone or will there an upgrade path for existing pre-wired cars?

This has always been a problem. Car manufacturers use much longer time in development then manufacturers of cell phones. Due to that, MB has now started delivering the UHI (Universal Handy Interface). One thing I’m not sure of is if you can install an UHI with the wiring you already have for 6310i. I will try to check this out, unless you get an answer here. The UHI should be available for different models from Siemens, Nokia and SonyEricsson

It also helps to have build date and configuration in your signature. I didn't do the config for a long time because it seemed like "bragging". Now I realize that there are so many interdependencies that it helps to have the complete picture - especially if someone has done retrofits.

I've actually not bought the car yet !!!
I want to make sure that I don't pay for an option that only lasts 6 months.
If I was to order Nokia pre-wire can it be changed relatively cheaply to another phone? I assume this would mean a cradle change???
