Rim Offset

Rim Offset
Hi all, I’m new to mbworld and i’m looking for some advice on rims. In the past year and a half, I’ve cracked 1 16” rim, 2 17” rims and bent another 17”. I live in upstate NY and travel between NY and VT for work (aka pothole country!) I’m looking at some used rims off an S430 C class that are +4 mm difference in offset (same diameter and width).
Will I have any issues with this difference in offset if I purchase these rims?
Thanks in advance!
Pete

+4 mm offset means the wheel will go 4 mm closer to inner suspension parts. Most of the cars have 10 mm clearance to sticking bolts or arms, but if you can't get wheels in question for try, get under your car and see if you have that much clearance everywhere.
Most likely you do, but front suspension is most often the problem.

W211 was coming with several different suspensions, but when rear usually have hefty clearances, on front you have strut who is just few mm from the wheel. That is where most of the problems begin.
Google image just for starters

I assume you meant S430 S class. W220 and W140 S class wheels are interchangable with the W211 and the swap has been done many times. Be aware that every other Mercedes prior to these models uses M12 wheel bolt while the W211 uses M14.

Not hitting pot holes would help. Sounds like you're just a ****ty driver if you're bending wheels like that.
I'm amazed at the amount of people I see that don't even try to avoid pot holes. If you were paying attention you would have seen that gaping hole in the road that you ran over.
