Need advise on trunk

This might sound obvious, but.. make sure that you do not have one of your keys in the trunk (or maybe lying on the back seat, wedged between the rear folding armrest).
If this were the case, the trunk should unlock almost immediately, but if you have a weak battery, who knows..

this the second time the trunk has opened on its own, i were to go out and open the trunk,it will not close, unless i force it, a few weeks ago when it happened, i oiled the latch, and it seemed to work of for a week,
A few years ago I stayed at a hotel and parked my dear departed BMW 528 in front. In the morning I went out front and pushed the key fob button to unlock my BMW. It unlocked. So did the Chrysler parked next to it - I could see its door lock buttons pop up.

I believe in Europe, the car is still delivered with the lockable trunk. So maybe the solution would be to purchase that locking mechanism from Europe and rekey it to fit your key, if it even comes with a tumbler..
