Noisy e350 wagon 4matic 2009

My 2009 e350 wagon is really noisy and it appears to be coming from the rear mostly. I guess I didn't notice it too much until my wife pointed it out and after driving her Ford expedition, but wow! It is really loud, especially at higher speeds. I'm on my 3rd set of tires and the last 2 of them I researched and reviews called them "quiet", so why so noisy? Is this just the way the car is? I looked in the rear wheel wells from the inside and there isn't much space to add sound dampening .

What noise exactly? Tire noise? Exhaust leak? Mechanical noise? Wind noise?

Perhaps tire or wheel noise? After a ride on the highway today I think it's coming from the passenger side of the car and sounds like it's from the front tire area at least as much as the rear. It peaks out at 80 mph and definitely increases with speed up to this point. I'm not even sure something is wrong if others tell me that their wagons sound the same.

My wagon definitely doesn't sound like that. Could be a bad wheel bearing, bad differential, bad universal joint or transfer case. You need to have a mechanic get it up on a lift and diagnose the noise.
