2005 E320 cdi
Angry p0087 - wont start

I have looked everywhere for an answer. I have 2005 E320 cdi sedan with a p0087 and wont start. I have replaced fuel pump and fuel sending unit in gas tank. I have replaced high pressure fuel pump and fuel filter and fuel pressure sensor.

When put in "on" position I can hear pump start up and push gas towards engine. I can loosen bleed valve on fuel filter and gas will spew out the top of fuel filter. But it will not crank over. What could i be missing????

Are you saying when you turn the key the motor does not spin? Or are you saying the motor will crank but not start? Your last paragraph is confusing to read.

Apologize for the confusion. Yes motor cranks fine but won't start.

UPDATE: I disconnected fuel injector from fuel rail. I expected the fuel rail would squirt fuel but that did not happen. I put a multimeter on connector to high pressure injection pump and got only 8 volts while cranking I'm thinking the high pressure pump is not engaging. Should it have all 12 volts while cranking?

The high pressure pump is mechanical, it has to be engaged unless you butchered new pump mounting. .
What rail pressure a scanner shows?

High pressure pump appears to be mounted correctly. Seated well on housing, no leaks both connectors connected. It is brand new Bosch. At this point, i think it is electrical. I undid the connection to the first fuel injector. When cranking, gas should have squirted out the fuel rail opening and didn't when I cranked it, so no pressure which would indicate the high pressure pump not engaging??. The 2 pin connector to the high pressure pump is only reading 8 volts when cranking. Wires look fine. Not sure where to go from here.

check the fuel pump relay at the fuse box located in left trunk side panel, if you bridge the relay you should get battery voltage, if you don't , removed the fuse/ rear sam sam box out and look at the plugs, its a 5 or 6 pin plug , they may be burned, don't have the id locations but I know its near the big red battery connector ,quit calling it a high pressure pump your going to confuse people its a fuel pump operates to approx. 56 psi, high pressure pump system operates higher thousands of psi
