E350 wont start.

My car wont start! Every time i try to start it the car just does a single click/cracking noise coming from what seems to be under the hood and in the back where the battery is. My battery voltage reads around 10v. Stange thing is that if i attempt to turn it on enough times it ends up starting up. It starts to crank slowly till it stops and then the second time i attempt it turns on and the battery voltage reads 14.1. I checked the fuse for the starter but its not blown. It starts fine sometimes though like it didnt have a problem but other times it will read a voltage of 12 but then i attempt to start it and it ends up dropping to around 10 and the. It starts doing that clicking/cracking noise till i attempt it enough to where it starts. Do you guys have any idea what could be wrong?

How old is the starter battery in the trunk? If the car is off and battery voltage at the battery is 10v - you need a new battery. Once the car starts and you see 14.1v - it's because the alternator has ignited and you're reading alternator charging voltage. Eventually you'll take out the alternator as it's become a battery charger. If the battery voltage - at the battery - is 12.4v or above - then you could have a fault in the battery management system and it's reporting false battery voltage.

I got my battery checked out at autozone and starter also but they told me they are all good. So at this point im lost as to what the problem is.

Now is good time to invest in battery tester. Testing batteries is tricky and I have 2 testers
1 load tester, who puts load for few seconds and shows you voltage drop. That indicate battery capacity
2. Solar -brand tester where computerized system sends spike determinating starting power.
Takes both to do full test.

Alright i will try to find a good battery tester and i suspect it might be the battery because when trying to turn car of the lights dim out and then come back to normal.also when i try to start it the car resets and my miles since restart always go back to zero
