Hi All,
I'm seriously considering buying a MB C3 Star Diagnostic tool.
Have looked all over and still am not sure what model, and which has the most bang for the buck.
Are the non-branded models viable?
How about unbranded?
Are genuine Mercedes star units a lot more expensive?
Do star C3's require a subscription fee?
Does anyone have a star diagnostic, and can offer any advise or suggestions?

Are you planning to do a lot of coding or modification to the car? If not an icarsoft or foxwell might serve your needs for far less money and hassel.Originally Posted by LexBrett2

There are knock off ones on aliexpress. They're all knock off ones, I believe the genuine ones are much more. There's also a vendor on here that also sells them and at least you might be able to get some vendor support. Normally the knock off ones you get some support initially but maybe if you have a problem a year or two later, they're no longer around.
As previously stated, if you just want to read codes and not do any modifications like adjusting the ride height on airmatic, then a basic scanner that reads MB codes is all you need. In addition to the ones mentioned above, there's also Autel Diaglink which is $89 on Amazon and there's a few others like icarsoft, icarscan.

Hi All, thanks for responding my thread. I have a teleaid error that i want to code out, according to hours of reading various forums star is the only tool that can do this. Already own icarsoft and it is ok, but from time to time I cannot do what I need. I do almost all work on my car; would do just about anything to avoid the dealership and get lied to. So that's why I am researching star...Originally Posted by cetialpha5
